As I spend this Thanksgiving week with family and friends, the topic of travel always comes up. There have been many misconceptions about travel agents since I started in the industry in 1994.
The internet has changed the way people shop for and research travel. For all the benefits of the internet, there are still plenty of downsides. Some of the advantages of working with a travel agent include;
1. A real person you can call, text, or email
2. Years of experience and insight
3. Less stress- I do the research for you and am your 1 point of contact. No scouring websites looking for the best deal, no sitting on hold on the phone or dealing with a chatbot
4. Groups are easy for me to coordinate. Business meetings, family reunions/ groups, and destination weddings are all things that I can simplify and make as stress-free as possible
5. Problem solver- Over the years I have assisted clients during September 11th, hurricanes, earthquakes, civil unrest, and any other catastrophe you can imagine. Contacting me will always be faster than sitting on hold with a mega company. (I can only help resolve issues for bookings I made)
I will never be an expert on every destination, but I also don't claim to be. I have been blessed with being able to travel and share that experience with my family. I hope the next time you decide to see someplace new you will let me help you plan that event and share your adventures and memories with me too~
