As I spend this Thanksgiving week with family and friends, the topic of travel always comes up....
The beauty of the season
As we draw closer to Christmas, I look back at photos from when my oldest daughter was young. The few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas were when the cruise lines had good promotions, so we would often take a week to explore the Caribbean. Each ship floor would have a uniquely decorated tree, and the dining rooms and public spaces would be decked out with all the glitz, glamour, and sparkle you could imagine. Not only did we get some wonderful holiday photos, but we also got to play in the sun & sand.
Every island we visited had different traditions surrounding the holidays as well as unique ornaments and decorations (Often handmade). When our week long vacation was over, we would fly back into Denver (usually to snow) with a tan and a fresh appreciation for the beauty of the season.
Now that my children are grown and we have young grandkids, I feel like this might be a good time to start that tradition again. I can't think of anything more relaxing that letting someone else trim the tree, cook the food and change the sheets for the 2025 holiday season. Maybe I'll even get a tan~
